How much does it
cost, how useful is it?
Pay per click
- get paid search results!
Optimizing a
website to get it into the first results on particular keyword searches on
search engines is very difficult, complicated and gives you no guarantees.
PPC (Pay per
click) can be an alternative.
Kanoodle ,
Google AdSense,
Overture and
GoClick are amongst the most well
known and most appreciated pay per click programs.
At PayPerClick
SearchEngines.com you will find over 500 reviewed ppc search engines.
The cost per
click can vary from 0,01 $/click to well over 10 $/click.
The quality of
visitors also counts.
Some online
business owners worry about scams. There are many cases when you pay for
"artificial", simulated visitors... Scam PPC programs take your money and
send you robots/clicks generated by programs, not real visitors.
How can you
avoid scams? First: try the programs out with a small amount of money.
Then, if it pays off, you can try again with larger amounts.
There's another problem: quality of visitors. If you own a "vacations"
site, you visitors coming from "ecards" sites will not be profitable for
your business. Unfortunately this is an almost unevitable problem: PPC
search engines always send such visitors from irrelevant search results.
GoClick is known to send visitors from irrelevant results, unrelated
sites.
Some PPC
programs (like Kanoodle and AdSense) offer you more flexibility. For
instance: you can get visitors from certain cities, content-relevant
sites, etc.
Google AdSense
and Overture have the highest exposure and the best reputation, while
GoClick is the cheapest (but also less relevant).
Kanoodle and
GoClick have been implicated in click fraud scandals, allegedly they send
a large number of fraudulent clicks to their clients' sites.
There are free pay per click programs, while most of them ask money just
to open an account.
