Backlinking
techniques
How many ways are there to get backlinks?
Link popularity
is a key factor in achieving good search engine positions. If you want to
be well ranked on search engines, you'll need good link popularity.
Most webmasters
are trying to get as many links to their website as possible, others pick
related category links, also taking account of relevancy, which is highly
important in search engine ranking.
Without any
doubt, search engines take account of the quality of links, not only of
their quantity. It's still debated whether quality counts more than
quantity.
According to our
studies, one way links and content-targeted links (or content-relevant
links) have the highest importance in search engine rankings. It's
desirable to have as many backlinks from content-relevant pages, as
possible and, if they're one way links (no direct reciprocal links), then
it's even better. Also: having links on other sites' main pages is also
important in search engine rankings.
It's advised to
avoid bad neighbourhoods. Google for instance, has a bad neighbourhood
recognition system. This means that if you own a website of a certain
topic and you have too many links on sites that don't match your
topic/theme, then those links will be considered to be in a bad
neighbourhood. The consequences can be awful if you risk to exchange links
with unrelated sites, bad neighbourhood linking can get your site banned
forever, erased from search engines' databases.
Overall, link
popularity can be increased by purchasing links on other sites, by getting
listed in
web directories
or by participating in link exchange
programs.

soon as we have evaluated them.
